In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم
Last night I was able to read the Surah of Maryam and Jesus PBUH and have my questions answered by TheWizard
in the Qur’an Study Room and Muxlim.com
I was first amazing to find that the Surah begins with words that none but Allah know. “Ha. Ya.`Ain. Kaf. Sad.“ How wonderful is that?!
I had been a Christian for three years before I reverted to Islam, so I had heard about Jesus’ birth PBUH many, many times. So when I reverted, it was hard for me to grasp the possibility that Jesus PBUH didn’t die on the cross.
However, the Qur’an says in 4:156-159
“That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): ‘We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.’ But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them.“(1)
Along with that, in Hebrews 5:7-8 the Bible says
“7 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered“ (2)
I also found comfort from verses 60-62 of the Surah of Maryam.
“Except those who repent and believe and work righteousness: for these will enter the Garden and will not be wronged in the least. Gardens of Eternity those which (Allah) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass. They will not there hear any vain discourse but only salutations of peace: and they will have therein their sustenance morning and evening.” (3)
I really enjoyed actually studying the Qur’an, instead of just reading it
as I had done in the past. I hope to continue to do so. I pray that each of you also burns with the desire to read you Qur’an and truely understand the words of Allah. Amin.
